We have had a few customers reach out telling us that their Weighted Eye Masks were confiscated by TSA at airports. This hasn't been a widespread occurrence, just a few odd cases. The TSA has acknowledged our specific product to be TSA compliant.
The reason is as of June 2018, TSA created a regulation in which:
"If you are traveling from an international last-point-of-departure to the U.S., powder-based substances in carry-on baggage greater than 350mL or 12 oz. may require additional screening at the central checkpoint. Powder-like substances over 12 oz. or 350mL in carry-on that cannot be resolved at the central checkpoint will not be allowed onto the cabin of the aircraft and will be disposed of."
Prior to January 2019, our Weighted Sleep Mask was filled with fine silica beads that resembles sand. It is now composed of glass beads, so newer iterations of the mask should not had this issue. You can read more about this regulation and how it may affect your travel here: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/what-policy-powders-are-they-allowed.
